What's stopping you from finding your "true voice"?
In most singers, something is blocking them from this "true" singing voice. What is it?
Well it's actually more mental than physical. It's kind of like a mental block that says, " I'm not good at singing".
This mental block can sometimes seem so big that you've actually accepted that your "true voice" doesn't exist.
Let's look into this a little deeper.
Where does your singing voice come from?
Well, it all begins when you decide in your mind that you are going to sing a note...
Your brain then sends a message to the required muscles, and they become engaged, coordinating to make a sound.
After this mechanical action by the muscles that initially received the message, the sound comes out.
And this sound that we hear... is it good?
Well, this depends on a very important thing.
Were the messages that were sent from your brain correct messages for singing?
You see, there are correct and incorrect ways in which your voice can behave. And both of these begin with the instructions that your brain sends to the muscles.
If you send the correct messages to your muscles, your voice will be amazing.
But the problem is that most singing exercises out there produce the wrong results. The messages from your brain are flawed from the beginning, therefore the muscles work incorrectly, and the singing voice is poor.
And it's no use practicing these exercises over and over either. You will just become proficient at singing incorrectly.
The sad thing about all this, is when singers practice the wrong exercises over and over, they develop a mental block... a belief that says "I can't sing that well". Or, "I can't hit any higher notes beyond this point".
This is disappointing because the truth is, that with vocal instruction that develops the *correct* neuromuscular response, you WILL be able sing superbly, and you WILL be able to sing higher notes.
But the mental block gets to the point where the singer either "gives up" or "puts up" with the voice they have now, never realizing that it has the potential to be amazing.

Unique syles of singing
Every Singer has their own unique style, sound and tone which is worth learning and studying. Watching and listening to the way a professional singer performs provides an insight into the techniques used, look at different singers with a veriety of range with in their voice, but you could spend years trying to emulate the top vocalists or favourite artist. If you intend to be a "tribute" act or have a natural similarity to an existing artist, studying them will be an essential part of your rehearsal program, but to really benefit from your voice, you should concentrate on developing your own natural vocal abilities and style.

A few tips that may help :-)
Here is a few tips on how to start singing...............
1.Make sure you practice singing as much as you can every day, even if this is in your bedroom or even in the bath / shower.
2.Watch your favorite singers sing live - listen to their voice and try to hit the same notes. This is good for your voice, but if anything hurts or strains, stop.
3.Enter karaoke and other competitions.
4.Don't tell them you want to be a singer if you think they won't encourage you. However, if they bring it up in a conversation, be honest and tell them why. They should understand. If not, don't give up! Many singers started very basic and without much encouragement / success.
5.Talk to your parents about having vocal lessons just for fun. Say this won't affect your schoolwork and you will do better academically. If they don't let you have vocal lessons, persuade one of your friends who is taking vocal lessons into helping you out with some of the stuff they learn there.
6.Find someone who is musical or can sing. If so, get chatting and singing as soon as possible.
7.Remember, the younger you are, the better chance you have at improving your voice, and you have more time to try to get better.
8.Write your own songs! It promotes you as a singer and helps you express yourself.
